Starting with the 2016-2017 school year, the Illinois State Board of Education mandates that all students grade levels 3-12 be administered a Physical Fitness Assessment.
Typical developing peers will be administered the Fitnessgram Assessments. Students with diverse abilities can be administered the Fitnessgram and/or Brockport Assessments. Brockport is the Physical Fitness Assessment designed for students with diverse abilities. Having an IEP does not excuse a student from these assessments. Each school district must annually report the assessment data of grade levels 5, 7 and 10 to the Illinois State Board of Education by June 30th.
Adaptability will implement these assessments into all of our Adapted Physical Education services and programs.
Adaptability can come on site for a staff training on the Fitnessgram and Brockport Assessments for your PE/APE staff. More information on this training can be found at our Services page.
