Charlie Rowe

Owner and Adapted Physical Education Specialist


Charlie received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Northern Illinois University. While working towards his BS, he received his Adapted Physical Education endorsement in order to be an Adapted Physical Education teacher. He believed this would be the perfect career choice to join his love of education, passion for physical activity and enjoyment of working with children with diverse abilities. Charlie then went on to receive his Learning Behavior Specialist endorsement from the University of St. Francis. Charlie is currently working towards his Director of Special Education endorsement.

Charlie has provided a wide variety of Adapted Physical Education services to 80+ schools in his tenure. These services include the teaching of self-contained and Reverse Inclusion APE classes, providing Coaching services to PE teachers and support staff, Professional Development training as well as program improving consultation services. 

Prior to leaving the classroom as an APE teacher, Charlie also had experience teaching general Physical Education as well as Special Education.

Charlie is a Board Member for ICAPE (Illinois Coalition for Adapted Physical Education) and a member of IAASE (Illinois Alliance of Administrators of Special Education).

Charlie and his wife Julie have two sons, Collin and Dylan. In his spare time he volunteers at various Special Olympic events and enjoys traveling and competing in triathlons.

Danielle Blocker

Adapted Physical Educator


Danielle is in her third year as an APE at Adaptability. Danielle graduated with honors with her undergraduate degree in Physical Education from Elmhurst College. She then went on to receive her Masters degree in Adapted Physical Education from Northern Illinois University while working as an Graduate Assistant for the KNPE program. During this time, Danielle was a member of Golden Key International Honor Society.

In addition to providing Adapted Physical Education services, Danielle has published an article in the JOPERD and presented at the IAHPERD state convention and DuPage Institute.

In her free time, Danielle enjoys traveling and being active outdoors. She also loves to support her students in various Special Olympic events. 

John Snee

Adapted Physical Educator

John is in his second year as an APE as Adaptability. John graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Park University in Physical Education with his Adapted Physical Education endorsement. John then went on to receive his Learning Behavior Specialist 1 and Health endorsements.

Prior to joining Adaptability, John has taught Adapted Physical Education, general Physical Education and Special Education at the high school level and at a transitional school. John has also presented at the DuPage Institute.

 In his free time, John is involved in Special Olympics as a volunteer for Track and Field and Basketball. He also coaches high school Cross Country and Track and Field.

Julie Rowe

Human Resources/Research & Development Coordinator


Julie covers multiple roles within Adaptability, including: billing, employee benefits, assessments and professional development. Julie graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Her knowledge of Physical Therapy is shared with our Adapted Physical Educators in order to better provide excellent APE services to our students.
