How it started
In November 2015, while working as an Adapted PE teacher, Charlie began dreaming of starting his own company to ensure all children have access to quality physical education. During that time, he learned that his goddaughter would soon be born with Down syndrome and congenital heart disease (CHD). This diagnosis inspired him to take the leap, determined to create opportunities for children of all abilities to receive the quality physical education they deserve. Adaptability officially launched in June 2016!
Where we are now
Adaptability has grown into a dedicated team of Adapted Physical Education teachers. Since our inception, our team has provided direct services in more than 35 schools and delivered professional development training and teacher coaching to over 170 schools across Illinois. Through these efforts, we continue to make a meaningful impactā€”both by serving students directly and by equipping teachers to better support their learners.
Saying we have positively impacted more than 5,000 children with diverse abilities is truly an understatement.
